RUSSIA: Pharmacy Chain 36.6 To Double Stores In 2006
Pharmaceutical giant Pharmacy Chain 36.6 plans to double the number of stores in its retail chain to 900 in 2006, according to the company's General Director Artyom Bektemirov. Of these, 320 outlets will be located in Moscow.
The company plans to obtain a total of 350 drugstores as a result of mergers and acquisitions and open a total of 100 outlets this year, he said. It aims to achieve 10-20% of retail pharmacy sales in Russian cities with a population exceeding 500,000 people. As of 1 April, Pharmacy Chain 36.6 operated a total of 512 drugstores in Russia.
