Russian govt to provide Rbl 40 bln for modernisation of 7 medical institutes

The Russian government will provide 40 billion roubles for the modernisation of seven leading medical institutes until 2014.

“A government resolution was signed today on the disbursement of additional funding for the development of seven major medical institutions in three regions – Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk,” Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with Minister of Health and Social Development Tatyana Golikova on Wednesday on Wednesday, July 28.

A total of 39.8 billion roubles will be provided up to 2014. Putin said the selected medical institutes “make a serious contribution to the development of the demographic situation”.
