Russian Pharmstandard H1 sales up 62 percent
Russian drug maker Pharmstandard said on Tuesday first-half sales rose 62 percent to 10.1 billion roubles ($318 million) after it won a government tender to supply cancer drugs.
Pharmstandard supplied the state with the Velcade drug worth 2.3 billion roubles during the period, said the company, which acts as a distributor of the drug made by Janssen-Cilag AB, a unit of Johnson & Johnson.
Total sales of pharmaceutical products rose 73 percent to 9.8 billion roubles, while sales of medical equipment and disposables fell 48 percent to 273 million roubles.
Pharmstandard also said it saw the consumption of pharmaceutical products move to old-fashioned and traditional drugs because of the changes in the disposable incomes.
