Russian Remedy for A (H1N1) Flu
Anti-flu agent “Triazavirin”, developed in Russia, showed its efficiency against A (H1N1) influenza strain, previously known as swine influenza.
“Triazavirin” was created to fight avian flu, however, it proved to be an effective protection from A (H1N1) virus in preclinical trials. Researchers tested the drug on A (H1N1) strain from their collection, and now they are waiting for Mexican subtype for further tests.
Meanwhile FAO (Food and Agricultural Organization of United Nations) officially announced that A (H1N1) influenza had nothing to do with pigs. No evidence that any case of infection with this flu strain comes from pigs, exist.
Scientists believe that eating pork meat and products won’t result in infection with A (H1N1). Studies of pigs didn’t show up the virus in these animals.
