Russian Drug Control Service denies imposing prescription sale of corvalol
Corvalol, valocordin and other medications containing small amounts of strong and poisonous substances, will remain an over-the-counter drug, said Deputy Director of Russia's Federal Drug Control Service Alexander Fyodorov.
"Those medications currently sold without prescription but containing a small amount of strong and poisonous substances will continue to be sold as usual without a prescription," Fyodorov told a press conference at the Interfax central office in Moscow on Monday.
He was commenting on rumors alleging that a new government act on strong and poisonous substances might impose a prescription for the sale of such drugs.
