CIS : Lekpharm exports first batch of Belarus-made nitroglycerine to Azerbaijan
Logoisk-based pharmaceutical company Lekpharm has shipped the first batch of Belarus-made nitroglycerine to Azerbaijan. Products by Belarus’ only manufacturer of nitroglycerine have proved highly competitive in quality and prices. In the near future Lekpharm plans to start regular trade with Azerbaijan as well as Moldova and Kazakhstan, Lekpharm CEO Boleslav Voronetsky told BelTA.
In his words, at present eight Lekpharm medications, primarily those with cardiovascular treatment effects, are getting registered in various CIS states. Once it’s over, the company will be able to largely boost sales on home and foreign markets of pharmaceuticals. Operational since September 2006, Lekpharm currently uses some 30% of its designed output capacity, noted the source.
Boleslav Voronetsky also said, certification of the company for compliance with the effective European pharmaceutical standard GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) will be an important condition for ensuring stable overseas sales. Once the tests and examinations are over, Lekpharm is expected to get certified within the next few months.
Belarusian-British-Russian joint venture Lekpharm LLC (limited liability company) is Belarus’ only full-cycle pharmaceutical producer compliant with GMP norms. The company primarily specialises in analogues of well-known foreign-made medications, which are no longer protected by patents. With equal quality and low prices, the Belarus-made medications beat foreign ones.
Lekpharm premises occupy an area as large as 2,600 square meters. The production facilities are designed to turn out 600 million pills per annum as well as 120 million wafers and 5 million sachets.
